The season is quickly approaching and American sports fans are chomping at the bit. The summer is a really slow slog for sports fans and sports bettors alike. Other than a few golf tournaments and auto races, baseball is the only game in town. Many sports fans find baseball to be boring.
Week 1 of college football has some decent matchups right off the bat. Perhaps they aren’t as strong as last season but they will be entertaining nonetheless.
Week 1 College Football Preview
Nebraska vs. Northwestern – Although this one isn’t exactly a powerhouse matchup, it is the first game of the season with real implications. It is actually being played in Dublin, Ireland which is quite the treat. Nebraska is favored by 12.5 points at trusted online sportsbooks. Due to Nebraska’s influx of talent we can see them winning and covering this line.
Georgia vs Oregon – On September 3rd, two very good teams face off. The #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs look to defend their title against the west coast powerhouse Oregon Ducks. Georgia is favored by 17 points in this one. This is a tough call but we are leaning toward taking the points.
Florida vs Utah – The Gators get to host a very strong and capable Utah team. So strong are the Utes that they are actually slightly favored in this one (Utah -2). Give me an SEC team getting points at home all day long. I’ll take the Gators in the swamp of Gainesville.
Ohio State vs Notre Dame – Week 1 is capped off with what looks to be a good one. Although oddsmakers are not so sure it will be close at all. Ohio State is favored by 17 points against a Notre Dame team that lost its head coach and will be trying to figure out which QB to start. Take the Buckeyes.
